SweetHart, Part 3

SweetHart helped us out with so much while she was here. In addition to making some delicious meals, loving our boys, offering encouragement and advice, she also helped us organize our garage, clean a few things in the house that don't normally get done (the bottom shelf of the fridge, mopping the kitchen, and more! Thank you, thank you!

We enjoyed watching H swim in the afternoons/evenings,
and tried not to get too wet while he splashed

She rocked and loved little boys

We had a couple of park visits,
and she took H to storytime and a puppet show at the library

She enjoyed our back porch every morning before the rest of us woke up.

After H woke up, she would take he and his breakfast out there before it got too hot.

She taught H about some birds and bird sounds while outside.

We took a picnic breakfast to Lamar park one morning.
It was beautiful but warm already!
We walked, fed the fish, and saw a swallow protecting it's nest.

If someone called SweetHart made you a lunch looking like this, wouldn't you eat it?

H loved it so much, he rubbed broccoli in his eyes...

This is the effect that SweetHart has on us!

Sssss...

I made this snake a month or two ago for H, and thought he might enjoy playing with it. He's enjoyed it, but the snake sure got a work out when Pop and SweetHart were here! We even had to put him away for a little while so he could take a much needed rest!

Pop and SweetHart, part 1

We had hoped that it would work out for Pop and SweetHart to be here when C was born to take care of H, but C had his own plans, so they came the day after we got home from the hospital and were a tremendous help! They rocked babies, played with toddlers, cooked supper, planned lunches, brought little treats for H, and loved us up! I am not sure we could have made it through those first few days without them! At least not in one piece!

A wonderful treasure, it made me cry when I heard it!

Nanny and Mary Ann came in from Louisiana to meet the new baby (Nanny's 7th great grandchild) and to see her baby (Pop).

Summer reading

The day we came home from the hospital, the local library had their summer reading program kick-off. They had some fun activities set up - including a ride around town in the double decker bus. While I stayed home with C, N and H headed downtown to check it out. H picked out a very cool book to bring home, and then met up with his friend Henry to ride the bus. Of course they made sure to sit on the second story of the bus! It was a warm day, but well worth the wait to take such a cool ride!

Busy days

Our days have gotten exponentially busier! Diapers to change, babies to feed, toddlers to occupy, babies to love and rock, adults to feed, and more!


H has been keeping busy working on his driveway artwork

C has been keeping busy taking in the world

H has been entertaining us with water games

And we've all been enjoying this little squished face!

Fun in the sun

Today H got a message from our neighbor, Henry, to put on his swim shorts and come over for a swim. So he did and they had a blast!

and took the occasional spill.

H is looking so big to me lately,
but it must be due to the fact that I've been looking at tiny little toes so much!

Big Bruver

H is taking his job of being "big bruver" very seriously. He solemnly accepted his gift from C of "tato head" (Mr. Potato head) and went right to work building and rebuilding 'tato head.

The whole car ride home from the hospital, H was saying "Baby, book. Baby, abc's. Baby, car. Baby, X" and so on, showing him everything to baby bruver.

Once at home, H introduced C to Leonard.
"Winnard, this baby!"

He loves to turn on the music on the baby swing and dance to it.
Thankfully C is oblivious to it!


H tries to help out with baby (he has only called him Charlie once or twice). He brings him socks, tries to share his snacks with him, tells him "Mama coming" when he cries... he is very helpful.

And of course, brother "nuggles" (snuggles) are the best help of all!
