We started the weekend off at CrawFest. A fun festival with tons of bounce houses, music and crawfish! The boys had a blast jumping, climbing, and sliding. The weather turned a little cold that day, but they didn't seem to feel it. We had a blast! We shared a funnel cake, and H LOVED it! Sometimes he is funny about not liking deserts with icing or toppings, but he was hoarding it and eating it all up like he was happy as a clam!
Family picture, by H. I love it! He drew each of us in our favorite colors! C will look at it and say "I'm the blue boy." H was putting some serious effort and thought into his picture, and drew Mama the biggest, H in the middle, and C the smallest. I'm glad we were created in God's image, and not how 5 year old's see the world! So cheerful, though!
We had sooooo much rain one afternoon and Evelyn came to play. Such a welcome distraction for all of us!
Johnny's Pizza and a play date with Alex. While H and Alex were playing around with the arcade games, C would not be distracted from the motorcycle parked outside, and was so happy when the owner came out with his big helmet and took off on the motorcycle.
I saw a get-along-jar idea on pinterest. So I decided to try it out. It is great for those times when they are antagonizing each other and someone ends up getting hurt. I like that the ideas emphasize loving each other and doing something nice for each other, especially when they had just not been acting loving toward each other. They usually end up happy after their "punishment" from the get along jar and ask to pull another stick. The blog I got the idea from said they put a couple of "Grace" sticks in, it is a great way to talk to the boys about the grace God gives us when we mess up, and we can share that with each other too.
C was soo happy with the Superhero ABC book he picked from the library. We love our little library and look forward to taking part in all of the great activities that they have planned this summer.
My sweet boys. H wanted to be in charge of story time one night. He "read" all of the words and helped C find some items in the picture.
Puddle jumping the day after our tremendous rain.
I do hope for the sun to always be shining on them!
