On Wednesday it was muggy and warm all day. It got up to about 80 degrees that afternoon. By 5pm it was in the mid 40's. The next morning we woke up to sleet and snow and cold!
A little bit of the novelty of snow had worn off from the last snow day, but they still enjoyed playing in it.
We went out with shovels and hammers, and the boys lasted a lot longer because their hands weren't getting wet and cold.
H was so happy to bring me this frozen yellow daffodil that reminded him of the sun! They had only bloomed a couple of days before, and were so pretty (fresh or frozen!).
By afternoon the sun had melted most of the snow, and we went back out to play.
C said "I have a great idea! Let's draw chuther's (each other's) handprints!" (Trace their bodies.)
H replied that they should use "water colors." (Chalk dipped in snow slush).
H painted this "Music monster."
(He named it that because of the little eighth note in the black in the bottom right corner.)
Snow days are fun, but they wear us all out!
They are very ready for bed on these nights!
Me too!
