A day at the park

We hiked up the levy to check out the water.  Then the boys rolled down the hill and raced back to the playground.

Boys climbing!
I think this is the first time C has had the interest or ability to climb all the way up!  He is very into doing everything "by myself" these days.

A spontaneous and sweet hug!  I love seeing these moments!

So happy!  It is amazing what pretty weather does for ones outlook on life!

"Help me up, brother!"

And then there was this....
(We were the only ones at the park!)

Black Bayou: iPhone edition

My turn!  Some of these pictures might seem redundant next to the boys pics from Black Bayou, but I got some cute ones, bear with me....

Our traditional selfie for SweetHart upon arrival at the trail.

 The naturalist/photographer, hard at work!

Tatum felt it his duty to sniff out every tree and branch to see who else had been there.

C, taking a picture of H with the palm branches.

H enjoyed taking pictures of specific things: a certain branch, a squirrel in the tree, etc.  C enjoyed taking lots of pictures of everything!  They both took some good pictures.  Once again thankful for a good quality, kid safe, water proof camera!   It still makes me hold my breath when they take pictures over the bayou!

Had I not been holding tightly onto the leash, I'm sure Tatum would have tried to dive in after the ducks in the water!  He REALLY wanted one!

They loved seeing the "stars" in the water!

After our walk, we grabbed our snacks from the car and ate in the arboretum. Even Tatum was ready for a little rest.
Such a beautiful day!!!

Riding the turtle.  H is starting to take interest in reading things in our surroundings, and noticed that the sign on the buildings said "No Pets" so we couldn't go in them today.

C saved some of his snack and let the turtle help him eat it while H was playing with the old fashioned water pump.

Black Bayou: Nabi Cam edition.

It was so pretty outside, we just had to be outside!  We decided on Black Bayou and H suggested that we bring their camera so they could take pictures, so, this is from the boys point of view.
I'm just going to let the pictures speak for themselves.  You can sort of tell who took the picture by the perspective or by who the picture is of.  (I deleted about 45 other pictures from this excursion.  Many were several shots of the same thing.)  They captured the morning quite well, I think!

Snapshots

"Mama, take a picture of me, please!"
He must have been feeling very sweet, all wrapped up in his quilt.

As you will...
Silly boys enjoying the pretty weather.
One with a silly face, and the other with silly frog goggles.

 Enjoying the pretty weather!
Its been awhile since we've been on bikes, so I was impressed with how well the boys were riding.  I think an extra inch of growth and some more muscle helped them to do well!

 Some of H's school work.
I am impressed with what they are learning about.  They just started a unit on the Native American's, and has been telling me all about buffalo, hunting, and "wee-pees" (teepees).

Weekend visit to the coffee shop.  It was so nice to sip on something warm, nibble on something yummy, and to read or play a game there with the boys.  A peaceful morning.

We went to see "Puddington" (What H calls Paddington Bear).
It was such a cute movie, and the boys thought it was pretty funny!

Snapshots

 Sleeping angels...
Its hard to imagine that they would ever do something mischievous when they look so sweet asleep!

 The many faces of C:
Vampire teeth, blue polkadot sunglasses
Super hero mask, and old paci.
C loves to dress up and have an accessory of some sort on.  It is very entertaining.  Especially when he decides he must wear his super hero mask while running errands, eating lunch out, and seeing a movie at the theater...

H is doing great with his reading and will "teach" C from time to time.  This was an instance of part teaching/part headlock.

Like I said, this boy likes to dress up with accessories (or undies) the side mohawk was especially funny!

Some mornings even Horton doesn't want to get up.  I can't blame him.

A little bed time reading.
Love these two!

SweetHart and KK. Part 4

SweetHart and KK were great for homework help as we returned to school after our Christmas break
C decorated a snow man with SweetHart's help.

Snuggles for a sleepy boy after a long day of excitement.

This was H's school work that he brought home one day.
it says "I like tweTr. (Tweeter, a pokemon bird). my twetr is the BEst."
I love seeing everything he is learning.

Storytime with SweetHart and KK.  The boys loved them to read "Goodnight Already."  They did all of the voices and everything so great!
We had such a great visit with SweetHart and KK, and made so many wonderful memories!

SweetHart and KK, Part 3

We had so many little moments of fun with SweetHart and KK, here are just a few of them:

Parachute fun

A trip to the mall with lunch, Merry go Round rides, and more!
Getting ready for the ride to start.
H loves the spinning seat, but it seems to be a little too much for C, and about halfway through he was looking very dizzy and a little green!

Making wishes at the fountain, and then we had a fun and crowded photo booth session with the five of us!

We let the boys choose an animal at the "zoo" to ride on.  They had fun, but it was so stressful for the adults to keep them from running into any other people or things.

Screen time with KK.  A little down time is necessary every now and again!

 Snuggles with SweetHart.

Coffee/hot chocolate/smoothies at the coffee shop.
A fun little outing at the new coffee shop by our house.
