Wednesday morning

This picture is actually from last night, but I just had to include it.
These boys are so happy to see their daddy when he comes home!

Now, onto Wednesday morning.  All of these pictures were taken within about 15 minutes.  When I think about it, it amazes me how much we move throughout the house and how many things we do in a short period of time.   Makes me tired!  These boys will keep you on your toes!

Playing with the nesting dolls
H loves to play with these "Troyshkas"  but has a hard time opening them on his own.  He can name all of the colors but for some reason has a hard time remembering green.

Who needs a pacifier when you have Little People?
This little dalmation fire dog seems to be his favorite to have in his mouth.
This little activity cube that he is playing with I got from a garage sale before H was born for $5.  Money well spent!  H has loved it since he started crawling and still spends a fair amount of time playing on it, and now C loves it too!

Lessons in hygeine
C thinks it is funny when people brush their teeth, or if they have towels on their heads after a shower.
Cute boys!

Here I am!
H loves to hide in this box in our closet.  (Leonard does too!)  H is very much into playing hide and seek these days and gets a huge kick out of it.

Whew!

Monday, Monday

Mondays.  I've come to love them because they are the start of a new week, but also to dislike them because I get a little overwhelmed by all of the housework that stacked up over the weekends.... Anyhow, today we:  went to the store, went to the park, did three loads of laundry and a load of diapers, deep cleaned the dining area, exercised, did the dishes, watched a little show, fed babies and boys, mended a quilt, painted a toy box, one of us threw a fit, countless trips to tee-tee and do big business on the potty (one boy is finally doing great with all aspects of potty training and is very excited about Thomas the Train and Buzz and Woody undies!!!), snuggled, dried tears, played hide and seek and more!

But we took a breather and went and played with our neighbor Clara Hartwell (and the mamas enjoyed chatting) and then went home and had leftovers for supper and put the boys down early!

we jumped

 we watched

we each did our thing!

Squishy

I hear two questions when I am out with C:
 "Is he breastfed?"
and "Can I just squeeze him?"

The answer to both questions is yes!
I ask myself that last question often too!

Saturday night live!

Race cars

Half naked boys

Carnival rides

and wrestling matches.

Just another Saturday night!

When I started taking these pictures, I was thinking how different our Saturday nights look now from what they looked like four years ago, thinking how tame they look now, but race cars, naked men, carnival rides and wrestling matches!  How exciting!  Life certainly is different now than it was before we had children, harder in some (or many) ways, more frustrating but also more exciting, definitely filled with more love, and more messy surprises, but I wouldn't change a thing!

Bon bon bon rouler!

Happy Mardi Gras!

One of the local churches has a Mardi Gras parade and pancake supper every year, and we went again this year.  Last year it rained, so they moved the parade into the church, but this year we did a little parade around the town square and threw beads and candy to all of the by standers.  I carried C and H walked with Daddy.

H spent most of the parade like this.
At first we thought he was just interested in someone behind us

but then we realized that he was very concerned by the man with the huge mask behind us!
I wonder what he was thinking about it.

Back at the church after the parade.  H was still worried about the masked man.  I think C was a little curious at this point too!

I brought some baby food for C, but he really wanted pancakes and sausage!

Happy about his supper

 Mmmmm...beads
I couldn't resist making a couple of matching mardi gras jester shirts.
There are little fleur de lis' on the back too.

Laissez les bontemps rouler!
(Or bon bon bon roolay! as H says it.)

After we got back it was time for the boys to have a bath, H was in the middle of pulling his shirt off and left it stuck around his head and then started shaking his head around saying "I'm a jester, I'm a jester!"  He really is our little jester!

Bon bon bon rouler!

Photo shoot

I got set up this morning to take some pictures of C for his body book.

The sun was just right, and I was able to grab a couple of pictures of his ear

 and his feet,

but C wasn't too thrilled about the idea...

He would much rather check out camera cases, and decorate them with drool,

try to eat the camera,

climb all over Mama,
check out the air vent and drum on it a little.

It would have been a lot easier to do this a couple of months ago before C was this active...
We'll try again later...

See Mama?  I'm so happy when you just let me move!

Happy birthday, Harrison.

You keep us busy, you keep us laughing, you cheer us on, you keep us on our toes, you keep us snuggled up, you fill our hearts with joy every day.

Ride on!
Three suits you!

Three year old interview.
We might need to practice some of these questions.
You can tell that his friends are important to him right now.
Sorry about the munching, a snack was the only way I could get him to sit still long enough for a few questions and to not make silly faces.
Cute, funny boy!

Happy New Year!

H kept forgetting that it was called Valentine's Day, so I guess the best he could remember was "Happy New Year."  When I reminded him, he would say "Happy Bawentines Day!"  We started the day off right!  When I woke up around 2am to feed C, I noticed that H was snuggled up between N and I with his blankies - fast asleep!  I am not sure how he got there and under the covers without us noticing....  We will work on sleeping all night in his own bed!  But it was nice to wake up to a little snuggler on Valentines Day morning!

We went to a Valentines party with some of his buddies.
They decorated little bags to put their Valentines in.

C crawled around.
Can you see H behind him?  Big brother discovered that it was fun to stand in the big toy box.

Then we went to visit Daddy at work, and to bring him a Valentine we made for him.
We also delivered a few Valentines to some of the ladies in the office.

Then we came home and took some pictures.  I made their shirts using the Silhouette.  I found an image for the sign "I love you."  I think they were pretty cute!

On the back it says "ily"
They got tired of sitting on the couch and looked at the birds out the window for a little bit.

C has recently started clapping, and loves if you will clap with him.

"Okay Mama.  All done!  We want to go play all day!"

Side note:  Every nap time/night time when we are putting H to bed, he says "but I want to play all day!"
He still tells us "I love you all day," and "I love you all the time."  They have been shortened to "I love you day" and "I love you time!"

Happy Valentines Day!

Rain coats and recorders

Last week it was raining lightly, so we decided to head out in our raincoats and boots.  We called Henry to come splash in some puddles with us.  He came and brought his recorder!  I brought out our recorder and the boys had a great time splashing and playing!  I'm not so sure that the neighbors were happy, though...

Watching the big boys go one way....

We are a marching band!

Watching the boys go the other way...
C kept up the percussion section by tapping on his bike handles.

 This is hard work!

Being that these were two little boys, we did need to remind them once or twice that their recorders were for making music - not sword fighting with!  What a great way to spend a rainy day!
