PreK 4!!!!

As much as C enjoyed helping me out at school, he was also ready to go to his class, and be in school.

H was so excited to walk his little brother to class that day.

He had already met his teacher during testing, so he knew her already.
I got to peek on him:
 during lunch,

 during nap time,

and on the playground (I caught big brother that day too!).

He has been so worn out each day after school, but I think he likes it anyway!

First Grade!!!

H was so ready to get back to our school routine, as much as we all enjoyed summer, it was time to get back to a schedule.

We sang "Happy First Grade to you," He was full of giggles throughout the whole song!

 He looks so grown!

I got to sneak a peek at him:
 In his new seat,

 at lunch,

and doing some desk work.

He has been so happy to see all of his friends that he made last year, and to make some new friends.
He is really liking first grade, and I am excited to see all of the things he will learn and do this year!

Super SweetHart!

I had to head back to school a few days before the boys did, so SweetHart was on duty those days.
And she was awesome!

We all took the boys swimming one of the afternoons.

These are some of the pictures she sent me of the fun they were having while I was back at work!  It made me wish I was there with them!
Fun times at the Kidz Town.

They picked up a yummy lunch from Sonic one day

 Resting/napping on my bed

Fun times exploring and playing at the Children's museum

More fun at the children's museum

And then after school we would do something fun, like make parachutes and fly them off of the ladder,

And they requested that SweetHart read their bedtime story each night.

SweetHart: Black Bayou

SweetHart just couldn't come visit without a trip to Black Bayou!
We tried to make it there early before it got too hot.

Our "Here we are at Black Bayou" traditional selfie.

Plenty to explore, investigate, and observe!

For some reason, the boys thought that Tatum's tongue hanging out of his mouth was funny, and they wanted to do the same.

SweetHart: Zoo edition

We decided that SweetHart needed to visit our zoo here!
So we chose a very hot day and went!

She loved the children's garden, and all of the other Louisiana style greenery.

The boys, of course, loved the splash pad.

We even got SweetHart in the water too!

After our picnic lunch we changed clothes and headed out to see the animals.
Most of the animals were napping in the shady corners of their habitats, but the Tiger (who is usually napping too) was taking himself for a swim and seemed so happy!  Seeing that was a highlight of everyone's trip.

After having a little lemonade slushie break, we got on the boat to tour the zoo by water and see some more animals.  Aside from being so hot, it was a wonderful day.

After rests and baths, we drew some of the animals that we saw on our chalk board.  Both of the boys ended up drawing flamingos, and then everyone had to stand like a flamingo!

Since it was a Friday, the boys wanted to have their Friday Night Sleepover.
They were so tired (and so cute snuggled together!).
Me and SweetHart were pretty worn out too!

SweetHart, Part 1

SweetHart is here for a little visit as our summer ends and the school year begins.
We always love to pick her up from the airport! The boys were so excited to spot her.

When SweetHart is here, there are always plenty of
 Nature and discovery adventures,

 Snuggles and books,

 Trips to coffee shops,

And journaling and painting.

Summer Snapshots

We got a donut pan and have been enjoying making donuts!  (they don't realize that they are mostly healthy for them!)

Swimming!  The boys have turned into little fish this summer.  I am so thankful and proud of the work they have done this summer.

I've been teaching guitar lessons to kids this summer, and H has been one of my students.  He has made some progress! I think we will keep on with this during the school year.

Watching some late summer fireworks.  We all wish they sold them year round.

Some artwork.  H wanted to go outside and look at the sun so he could paint the sky.  Of course, then Tatum wanted to go out too and sit right by him, and then C wanted to go out and paint too.
After a few minutes I realized that C was painting his toenails instead of a picture!
Oh well!
