Fun in the Sun

First off - an apology for all the nakey pictures lately! I guess it's just that time of year, and the fact that H seems to have enough control over his bladder that it is safe to be nakey! Nanny - my grandmother, got a little pool for him to have at her house. He loved it! It was a little cold at first, so we moved it into the sun and got it a little warmer!

I'm not too sure about this....

Watching Nanny do water the flowers. Beautiful yard! (Where my Daddy grew up.)

Warming up to it...
(With very sophisticated water toys - measuring cups and a cooking pot)

Blowing bubbles

I think he likes it!

Daddy keeps me warm!

The video is a little dim - I had it on the wrong setting - but you can see his enjoyment....
..until Daddy sprayed him with water!

At the park

As planned, we ventured over to Kiroli park this morning before it got too hot. Beautiful day! It consisted of lots of sliding, swinging, exploring, and watching other little boys play.

H prefers to try to climb the steps like a big boy, rather than crawl up them like a little guy with tiny legs. This means that we must always be right behind him when at the park!

I'm not sure if all babies do this, but when he gets warm, his hair gets wet!
He must sweat in his head.

Pretty trees!

Sweet.
My boys!

Ready to go! He will definitely take a good nap today!

Busy good day

I wish this picture meant that we had trained Leonard to help with the dishes, but in reality there was a bug above the dishwaher.

I had thought H would be spending the summer in a diaper and t-shirt, but I don't think that will be happening....he figured out how to undo his Velcro tab diapers.

He loved walking around naked - and thankfully didn't have any accidents!

More nakey time! "Ooooooh!"

This is H right now:
I don't think he could get any farther into the corner if he tried! His toes are sticking out the side of the crib, and his head is all covered up! He had also thrown all of his animals over the sides too!

One thing I didn't get a picture of is H with his new toothbrush! He loves having his teeth brushed, but when I give him the brush, he can't quite get coordinated enough to move his hand back and forth while keeping his head still, so he moves his head back and forth while keeping his hand still. It is quite a sight!

Nathan had his last day of school yesterday, and is officially on summer vacation! His is enjoying his first day of summer - by wonderfully playing with H, and helping with laundry and dishes. I am thankful to have a husband who is so willing to jump in and help out! But, tomorrow we will be heading to the park - N has never been to the park with H and I, so it will be a fun way to enjoy the summer morning!

Sometimes you wonder...

Sometimes you wonder what is going on in their minds.
How they think of the things that they do...

The other day, I put H in his crib with a couple of books for a little quiet time (not nap time, just a little quiet) and went to take care of a couple of things. I heard him talking, and then fussing a little, then it was very quiet. I went back to check on him, and he had fallen asleep! I decided to get my camera and take a quick picture, and right as I snapped this picture, he flipped over and started laughing! So, I am not sure if he was pretending to be asleep, or if he really was asleep and just heard me when I got the camera ready... Whichever it was, it gave me a good laugh!

In the fireplace - makes a good stage?
You can't see it in the picture, but Leonard was back there with him too!

A few days ago I was washing my face and heard H walking back and forth behind me, and then when I was drying my face, I saw him come in the bathroom with a book, then he left and came back with a slipper. I looked in the tub and he had quite a collection going in there!

Bringing Daddy a drawer while he sleeps.

This was at a Mexican restaurant tonight, I'm not sure what the face is for. Tonight he had his first taste of salsa, and loved it! He also had his first taste of lime and had us laughing with the expressions he had on his face! He discovered that it got a good laugh, and kept tasting the lime and making more faces!

H has a little step stool in front of the mirror in the hallway. He likes to bring "props" and see how he looks with them; books, pacifiers, and more! Today his prop was his snack - an apple! He would take a bite, giggle, make a face, and repeat! I caught a little of it in a video.

I was talking with my Daddy about some of these happenings, and he said "don't you wonder what they are thinking?" When their actions don't make much sense, you wonder what the thoughts or motives are behind the actions. And then he went on to comment that once they can talk and tell you why they do some things, it still doesn't always make sense! But, it does keep us laughing!

Good times with SweetHart

We had such a good time with SweetHart! We packed a lot into her visit: many diaper changes, a few sleeps, lots of goldfish and cheese, a trip to the park, date night for Mama and Daddy, books read, sticks and leaves picked up, a shopping trip, good food, a couple episodes of Survivor, lots of family, and much more!

Watching Survivor together
(I have on my war beads and loin cloth to get in the mood!)

Taking a break for a little light yard work.

Aren't we cute?

It's been a busy weekend, and I'm ready for a nap!

Come back soon, SweetHart!

SweetHart!!!!

Yesterday after my nap we went to pick SweetHart up from the airport! I was so happy to see her! It took me awhile to figure out how she got out of the computer though... (We talk to she and PopHart on the webcam a lot!). But, after she laughed with me and played peek-a-boo with my blankie on the way home, I decided it was alright!
She brought me two new books!
I had to test her to see if she was going to let me stand up in the bathtub, but she passed and told me 'no.'
This morning she asked Mama to take me to my favorite park!!!

Come on, let's go!

Weeeeee!!!!

Peek-a-boo, Mama!

Look at this!

I am having so much fun with SweetHart! What will we do tonight when Mama and Daddy go on a date???

There is avocado on the wall....

I came around the corner yesterday and found this!
Which means that somehow he opened the cabinet with the child lock on it, and opened the container of fruit puffs. I guess he was hungry?

I have always loved a clean house - and while I guess it doesn't look messy, our home definitely looks lived in! I wiped some avocado off the walls a few days ago (just about 2 feet from the floor, so I have a good idea who did it...), and this morning I was looking for a certain color of thread in my sewing box and found half of a carrot, semi-shriveled! Again, I'm pretty sure I know where that came from!
Who knows what little 'treasures' I will find tomorrow!

While we are on the topic of food.... I am going to ask for a little bit of help (from whoever, if anyone is reading this!!!). I am compiling all of my favorite recipes into one place. I have typed them up and printed them on cardstock, so they will be nice and sturdy too! But, I would like a few more... so, if you have a favorite recipe, or a recipe that you find yourself making regularly, please send it my way! Either leave a comment with it, or e-mail it to me! Breakfast, lunch, entree, side, dessert, cleaning products, play-dough....any well loved recipe, I would love to have!

Is it naptime yet?

The not so 'baby' baby

H is growing up! Talking more, walking more, playing more, ....

He has been having more big boy experiences like pb&j sandwiches (he had his first yesterday)
and drawing with crayons:

Making a little colorful music!
He ended up with a little green and orange on his toenails - maybe his feet were helping him guide them?

I made these ones with some beeswax I had leftover from making lip balm. Because they are made with beeswax and cake paste food coloring, they are safe for little mouths. I also made them in a 'pebble' shape so they would be easy to grab on to (and bang together)! He didn't seem to know quite what to do with the regular crayons, but got the hang of what to do with these pretty quickly!

(N got me an embroidery machine for my b-day and i have enjoyed adding a little personalization here and there.)

I love this position! He was getting proper perspective on his art!

Check out those thighs! All done! Putting away the crayons until next time!

At this point in time:

At this point in time:
H loves his Mama and Daddy, and basically anyone who loves him!

Every time when I get him up after a nap or in the mornings, he likes to get a pacifier and blankie.

He loves to stand in the storage space of his step stool and make faces in the mirror. Sometimes he even gets little props (like old pacifiers and books) to see how he looks with them in the mirror.

Waiting for Daddy to come home from work is the most exciting time of our day!

He really likes to clap his puzzle pieces together and hear the loud noise. (He does this with his eyes closed tight - just in case he accidentally hits his face?)

He cries every time we come in from playing outside.

He likes to go push Leonard down and love on him.

He loves to climb on our bed and throw himself on the pillows.

He loves playing peek-a-boo and sharing his snacks with family on the webcam.

He still does not like vegetables, he likes fruits and most kinds of meat, he LOOOVES cheese and goldfish crackers.

He gets apples and peanut butter for snack time, and will eat off the peanut butter and spit out the rest of the apple.

He has discovered the joy of closing doors.

He can say uh-oh, stuck, duck, "arf," mama, dada, ...

He can sign, pacifier, blankie, water, bath, apple, banana, cheese, daddy, meat, more, finished, please, thank you, I love you, fish, Leonard, milk, clean, 'brush off,' bubbles, phone, dog,...

I know that was a lot, but I don't want to forget them!

Playing with blocks while Mama puts her make-up on

A little owl that keeps the door open.
Modeled after this

Peeking under the table skirt
I'm glad it wasn't a woman's!!!

A little light reading: Cats, Money Managing, and cheese
