I think I'm the treat!

While in Baton Rouge we....

Explored the hotel room while Daddy rested.
(Nathan has students in the All-State Honor Choir and normally I come for the teacher conferences, but we tagged along as family and to see family this time!)

Gnawed on lots of things!
(H is about to cut his second tooth, and everything goes into his mouth.
It also makes for a slightly cranky baby....)

Went to Chuck-E-Cheeses, although Mama and Daddy wouldn't let me play with the big kids....
(N took his students there for lunch today, and H loved watching the disco lights and the older kids.)

Helped Daddy on the computer.

Played on the floor.
(Mama keeps giving me these weird things called Cheerios.
They feel strange in my mouth, but I like making her laugh with my funny faces!)

Visited with my great aunt and uncle Bryan and Sheri and their daughters.
(They wouldn't let me out in the rain to play with their dogs...no fun...)

Uncle Bryan has fur!

All of this traveling wore me out!
(Sleeping with my new toy. Geaux Tigers!)
It has been different to come here this year with another member in our family and about three times as much luggage! I have enjoyed H's naptimes by cutting out the animal members of Noah's crew and crocheting a hippo. You can really get a lot of crafting done during naptime when there is no housework to do! N has been working hard as usual, taking care of us and his students. We got to see my aunt and uncle tonight too! I would love it if all of my family lived within 30 minutes of us...

Recipe for cute pictures:

Plenty of grass, leaves, or pine needles

A pumpkin

And a cute baby!

After our Sunday lunch at Nanny's, we headed out back with our pumpkin and took some pictures. H was so enthralled by the leaves and grass that we had a hard time getting him to look up! He also tried to eat a few leaves and pine needles, and we both ended up with dirt on our knees! But, it was well worth it!

Sidenote: His head looks so big in the second picture, I'm glad it wasn't that big when he was born!

Leonard's Words of Wisdom

Surround yourself with people you trust completely

Parenting Lesson learned:

If you feed your son beets for supper,
Tell the babysitter!

Just in case she changes a poopy diaper....

Three little mice

My mama gave H a box that has three mice puppets inside, and we were playing with it. It's cute to see how he starts to anticipate the box opening and then to talk to the mice. I think it's cute, but it may be one of those things that only parents and grandparents love. So, I will not be offended if you do not call me to tell me how wonderful and amazing my son is!

Leonard's Words of Wisdom

Don't be too bashful to claim the seat you want!

(This is a nap mat that I was sewing a blanket onto for a friend, and while I was working on it,
Leonard thought it looked just perfect for him!)

What we've been up to:

Loving our sweet potatoes!!!
Normally he doesn't look this messy after eating, I don't know what happened this time!

Riding in the cart like a big boy!!! I took this for my Etsy shop (to show that the cover fits on a Costco/Sams cart). Lately he's been very squirmy in the sling if I wear him while shopping, but if he's in the cart like this, he reaches up to be held. I'm not sure what to do...

That cloth diapered rump was too cute not to post!!!
He is pretty much always wearing a onesie, so I never get to see his fluff stick out like that!

And last but not least... he is not crawling yet, but he sure can roll! I am always supervising him, but he has ended up under the couch, under the changing table, and between the ottomon and glider. You can tell that it was almost nap time and he was not too happy!

An update...

My two blue eyed boys!

Well, I have been a little behind in my updates lately! W've had company and I have been getting ready (sewing, sewing, sewing) for St. Patrick's Fall Festival where I had a booth with all of the things that I have made and sell in my Etsy shop! I wasn't sure what to expect with that, but I think I did pretty well! It was cold, but fun, and Nathan was a superhero! He got me set up in the morning, stayed with me and H for a little bit, took H home for his morning nap, brought me lunch and H, stayed for a little while again, took H home for his afternoon nap, got the babysitter lined up while he played for mass, got a friend lined up to help me take everything down and bring it home, and helped me cook when we got home!!! I lucked out with this one!!!

Today, it was so beautiful, and we did not have a festival to get ready for, so, after lunch at Nanny's we headed over to Forsythe park for a walk and a few pictures!
It was a little chilly!

We couldn't get one with all of us looking at the camera!

Sweet dreams!

A thought...

This might be the time that you realize that your child is growing out of some toys...

SweetHart's visit I: My Day with SweetHart

8:30am: She's here, pick me up!!!

Reading , singing, reading

Squeezing, squishing, loving

mmmm, new toy?

12:30pm: FOOD!!!

3pm: naptime for everyone!

5pm: a little chin chewing
(H does this to me, and not really anyone else,
so Mama knew she had arrived when H did it to her!)

Clap, snap, play

6pm: FOOD!!!! (This was his first taste of peaches, and he loves them!)

7:30pm: Ready for bed. (Mama even used our cloth diapers!!! She just jumped right in stuffing/taking apart, and she even sprayed off a yucky one with our diaper sprayer!!!)

8pm: Rocking, lullabies, prayers, and rest

H loves his SweetHart, and I love my Mama!!! I wish we lived close enough that we could have more visits, but this just makes every visit that much more special!

SweetHart's visit II

I love how he puts his arms back when he is really excited about eating!!!

Mama's childhood friend, Amy, stopped by. Her grandson, Hudson, was born a couple of days after H was born. She also was the inspiration for the name of my Etsy shop: PachaMamma. Hudson calls her Pacha (it means 'earth mother.')

At GrandMissy and Grandpa Harry's house. The two grandmothers.

At the airport, it looks like it was a good visit!!!! Come again soon!!!

Am I one of THOSE mamas?

I must be one of those mama's who do all of that newfangled, new-age stuff with their babies.
You know; cloth diapers, baby legs (leg-warmers), teething necklaces (that actually seem to work!),
baby wearing:

make their own baby food:

make most of their child's toys:

breastfeed exclusively:
(I won't show a picture of that, don't worry!)

a stay-at-home-mama.....

Yes! I AM one of those mama's! And I love it!

Other news: H has had a clogged tear duct since he was born, and it was just not going away, so he had it opened on Monday. Sad baby! But, once we got home he had forgotten all about it!

N's Grandmother, Pretty Mama is in town this week and met H, her first great-grandchild for the first time.
H and Ol' G/Pretty Mama

And, my Mama is currently on her way to see us!!!!! She is probably about halfway between SF and Atlanta, so we are getting ready and I can't wait to see her!!!!

A PachaMamma gift ready to send!

An LSU baby sling, and a little 'lagniappe' (a little something extra).

It is for someone having a baby this winter. I hope she likes it! Geaux Tigers!
