Red Ribbon Week

Monday was Twin Day.
The boys liked being twins with each other.

Tuesday was Tacky Tourist Day, but the boys decided that they were explorers instead.

Wednesday was dress for success, but the boys both preferred not to wear church clothes to school...
It was also the day of the mini pumpkin decorating contest.
C chose a Ninja Turtle, and H chose Pikachu.
H won second place for his class!

 A little after school art.

Thursday's dress up was Throwback Thursday.  We roughly went with 50's dress up.
Thursday afternoon was our schools Fall Festival.  So many fun games, lots of candy, bounce houses and more!  They had face painting too.  H got a Pikachu and C got a Ninja Turtle painted on.

Friday was school colors (blue and red).
H reading to C after school.  I love C's arm around H's shoulders.

Snapshots

Our school had an "orange day against bullying" last week.
The boys loved wearing their pumpkin shirts.

C's class had a field trip to a local farm and pumpkin patch, and I was able to catch them as they were lining up to go.  They were all so excited to go!  And were all so tired when they came back!

Orange day sneaky selfie with this guy!  I've realized I need to get an orange shirt...

 Thursday afternoon snow cones.
We all needed a little pick me up after a long day, and snow cones and a bike ride was the perfect way to do it!

Friday was the snow cone fundraiser at our school.  My lunch break was right when the boys were getting their snow cones, so I snuck a picture (and a bite of their snow cones!).

After weeks (months?) of no rain, it was so great to splash and play in the rain and puddles

Decorating spooky cookies was so much fun. (and tasty!)
H is definitely conservative in his decorating, C is not.

Black Bayou Fall Festival

We love the events at Black Bayou, so were very excited to go to their Fall Festival
They had several local organizations there - people from the zoo with various animals

The local colleges had kid friendly science experiments

They learned about the rings on a tree,
and H drew some tree rings - making his tree six years old, just like him!

C enjoyed examining the "tree cookies"

They also got to help turn the goose, since their migration has turned south again.
(We were there in the spring to turn the goose north).

All worn out!  So much fun!

Pop and SweetHart, Part 2

 Some of H's artwork.
Lots of birds, love and a sea horse.

Story time with Pop (and Tatum!)
The boys were very happy to have some extra adults around to read extra stories to them

 Honor Roll boy!
Good grades for the first six weeks, and I am so glad that Pop and SweetHart were there too!  He was so happy to see them at the awards ceremony.

Saturday morning reading.
It was such a good visit!

Pop and SweetHart: Snaphots

The boys had no idea that Pop and SweetHart were coming for a little visit.  They were so surprised and happy when they showed up at our door one day after school!

We love the easy mornings with them.  Always up for snuggles and stories!

C wore himself out! He must have been really into his book!

 No more training wheels!
After a morning walk, H decided he was ready to try to ride without his training wheels.  With a little help from Pop and SweetHart he got it!  He loves to ride his bike now!  He can go faster and smoother, and it makes him feel so good!

We took an afternoon trip to the park.  Such a nice (and cool) afternoon!

We love having them here!
