Probably right after H was born, I found Monkeys on the Roof on Etsy and fell in love with their 'Old School Tree Blocks.' He was much too young for them at that time, so a little while ago I was able to get some for him. I try as much as possible to use natural toys for H - made out of wood, fabric, and other natural fibers (we do also have our share of plastic toys) - so these were perfect! They are made out of real wood, and finished with a beeswax coating - you can't get much more natural than that!
The shop owner was so friendly and got these to us quickly. They come in their own little bag with a wooden disc 'bead' on the handle.
H loves to stack ("tack") them and knock them over. There are a few pieces that are cut at an angle that give him a little trouble now, but I love that because he tries to figure out why it won't 'tack' and I know that these blocks will continue to grow with him.
