The New House: from H's camera

Now that we've been in our house over a month, I looked on H's camera to see what pictures he had of the new house.  All of them take place in the kitchen/living room - that happens to be where we spend about 95% of our awake time.  I asked him what these pictures of, so the captions are from him.  Enjoy!

Yeah, that's Daddy.  He's sitting in his chair and thinking.

It's picture of C when he was playing with his bowl.  That's a picture of brother.

Thats Mama's fabric.  It was on the floor.  She was making something.

Yeah, that's Mama.  She ate her meat with her tummy, and then opened the curtains.

That was my kitchen.  I play the piano sometimes.  Can Henry swim with us?

Daddy!  See the fridge?  Daddy grills with olive oil.

That's brother.  He was playing on the train table with some toys.

Muggy day

 A little humid today...
We could only stand it outside for a few minutes this morning. My camera lens was foggy! H has always sweated profusely in his scalp, and C's little nose gets very sweaty.  After only a few minutes outside this morning, H's hair was soaked and C's nose had beads of sweat on it.  Sweet, wet boys!

 I think I'll draw a picture of....Daddy!

Brother, you can draw too!

(I love the little squat that C just started doing this week!  Means that his legs are getting a little longer!)

If you look closely, there is some white chalk on C's lips.  He tried both the pink and the white (the white one twice)... must have looked tasty!

Don't eat the chalk, brother!
This one starts preschool in three weeks!!!!  I don't know if I'm ready for that!

I don't want to go to sleep!

Before breakfast

Before breakfast:

I went in to find little brother, and about 20 animals all snug in his crib (one of the joys of sharing a room with big brother)

We did a little parking garage playing,

 a little helicopter flying,

had a little pick-me-up,

enjoyed our morning drinks,

and helped some people park their cars and head to work!

Big Boys

I know I already posted some sleeping boy pictures this week.  I just couldn't resist posting these!  I came back to check on H after putting C to sleep, and found both my big boys fast asleep!  Sundays are long days here...

A week?

Has it really been over a week since I posted?
Wow!  We've had a lot of rain here (every single day), some pretty high temperatures outside, a little boy with four molars coming in at once (accompanied by many other fun symptoms), another bigger boy with a lot of energy, and N and my own activities - makes for a busy week.

Today we braved the heat and headed to the library for the puppet show!  We played outside the library for a few minutes beforehand.

Enjoying the puppet show.  It was the Princess and the Pea today.

A few pictures of our sleeping beauties:
( Looking like this - you'd never think they could be the cause of any trouble! )

 These boys love their blankies!

 Can't forget Leonard!
His adjustment to the new house was not so bad!  He didn't spend the first month under our bed like he did when we moved to the last house.  He's been enjoying the boys couch.

Much

It has been so rainy here lately, we've been spending too much time inside!  It let up a little this afternoon so we were able to get out and run some energy off!  (I heard or read somewhere that: children are like dogs, you have to make sure they get a walk or some play time every day so they don't tear your house apart.  It is so true!)

We took C to the doctor this afternoon to check on his ears.  He has been extra fussy lately, and just finished antibiotics for a previous ear infection, so we just wanted to make sure the infection wasn't back.  The doctor said his ears looked fine, but he has four molars coming in all at the same time - poor baby!

After we left the doctors office, we ran by to visit Daddy at work and run around in the marching band practice field.

"Dah"
(translates to: there's grass on my hand, Mama)

"Come on brother, let's go this way!"

"Here I coooommme!"

C did NOT like the feel of the grass on his head!
I guess when you are basically bald, it might feel a little funny.

 Weee!
Daddy tossed C in the air a few times, and he loved that!

There's an old telephone booth at Daddy's office, and H loves to get in it, I think I would too!

Tonight both boys came and sat in my lap and H told me "Mama, you have much boys!"
Much boys, much life, much joy!

Buddies

Typically, in our house, where one boy is, the other will not be too far away.  Sometimes they are playing together, but most of the time they are doing their own thing near each other.  It's pretty cute!

Puzzle time in the boys' room.
(Nanny, do you see your brothers' bed?  We love it! (We have the head and foot board from my grandmother's brothers from when they were growing up.  H is using one set, and the other set will be for C when he is in a big boy bed!))

Teeth brushing time.
I can't remember if this is getting ready for the day or for bedtime, but C loves to come sit on the steps while H is brushing his teeth, washing hands, doing his business, or any time!  He loves his big brother!

H has loved playing with some of his buddies.  He calls them 'muppets,' and creates some pretty interesting stories with them, but I'm not too sure we've talked about muppets instead of puppets.  But he likes them!

All boy!  This boy loves cars, balls, and tools!  C took the toy screwdriver from their bedroom and brought it into the living room and was "working on" the screws on the door window for about 15 minutes!  A long time for a little guy!

A little music time in the office.  We have various instruments in there to play with, and today they both chose the harmonica.  It was pretty cute!  And great fun when I joined them on the kazoo, and Daddy joined us on the accordion!

Here is a little snippet of what the 'band of brothers' composed today

I love my boys!

Today

Today was silly hat day at our house.

Happy Weekend!

H has enjoyed cooking with me lately - especially if there is chocolate involved!
I think we were making chocolate covered frozen bananas here.  He's got jammies on, bedhead, a cheesy smile, a chocolate mustache, and a bottle of vanilla - and he's happy as a clam!  When we cook, he wants to put "sprinklers" (sprinkles) on everything!  Muddy buddies, chocolate covered bananas, muffins - all end up with a few sprinklers here!

Playing with Daddy's hat
How does he look so mature here?  Maybe because it looks like he actually has a little bit of a neck?
Silly boy!

Have a good weekend!

Happy Fourth!

 Happy Fourth of July!!!!

It was a very hot and humid day here, but we still headed to the square for the parade!  It was scheduled to start at 10am, and we were a few minutes late and almost missed it!  The parade (mainly children and families) was all over by about 10:15.  But we were there long enough for the boys to get flags and for us to take a few pictures.

A very nice woman offered to take our picture, and this was the best we got of the four of us!

After lunch, some of our friends from Louisiana came to visit us, and we headed over to the Grove at Ole Miss, where they had some fun activities set up for the kids.
A bucket full of turtles - H was in animal heaven!  They had a track set up for the turtles to race.   H somehow kept picking the slow poke turtles.  (Later when he was telling SweetHart about the animals, he was excited to tell her about the "turtle racers.")

The boys helped give a lamb a bottle of milk, and give a goat some grain (One goat nibbled H's finger!!!)

 The big boys.
Between our two families, there were four little boys!  A wild and exciting time, to be sure!

 They had a bounce house!
H and Alex loved it!

C walked around the Grove with his snack cup and sippy cup, charming all of the little girls and grandmothers.  We think he's pretty cute, too!

They were both worn out after.  A bounce house in 100 + degree weather..... I don't think I've ever seen H drink so much water at one time before!

The best friends.
They weren't so concerned with each others names, but would refer to each other as friend, buddy, that boy, or my best friend.  It was cute!  Come again soon!
