Flashback Friday

Are these the same boys?  

Easter Party

 H's school Easter Party was this morning.  Their class parties are always such fun!  Pearce's grandmother read a story.  I think she must have been a teacher - her reading was very animated and engaging. 

 H decided to say "Easter Bunny" instead of "cheese!"  Bunny grahams, cookies, fruit, yummy!

 C liked the peeps!  He loves to do what big brother is doing, I'm glad the boys are buddies!

 They made paper plate bunnies with a LOT of cotton balls.  It was a fun and very kid-friendly craft.

 Easter egg hunt!!!  The class all handled it surprisingly well.  They each found their allotted twelve eggs with no fighting or tears!  I was impressed!

When H was filling his eggs to bring to school this week with a sucker and decorating them with a sticker, it was so cute to hear him say " Oh!  A C!  This one will be for Caroline!"  Or, "This sticker has a ball, that will be for Parker."  I don't know if those kids actually got the eggs he intended, but he thought of each of his buddies and what sticker they would like.  

 H was proud of his finds.  He loves his treats and prizes from them but is also so nice to share a jelly bean with each of us in the family.

Our week in review

 Snuck a peak of the boys last night, I guess C's head was cold! 

 I think this is a good tip for his bald-headed grandfathers!

 H's new mission on our afternoon walks is to find all of the dandelions!

 C decided this week that he wanted to start going "tee-tee" on the "boppy."  

There have been a lot more glimpses of his cute peaches running around!

 Nabi time!  

(I had gotten tired of trying to get the Innotab or LeapPad to do what I wanted it to, so I traded them in and got a nabi 2 for H and a nabi Jr. for C.  They have awesome things preloaded on them, are android tablets (so I can get online on them, and can download new apps as the boys grow), and we can get Zoodles on them! (I highly recommend zoodles if you have an android tablet - it has awesome features and locks the kids into the app).  Because H has one, C of course also had to have one...it's educational, and it makes it possible so I can make supper in peace!)

Pic a Day

 C was so intent on "fixing" his bike!

(We've had his bike inside for a couple of weeks now... we are ready for Spring to be here for good!)

 C helped me and H make muffins for the first time.  H was a very good teacher, and C was very serious about his responsibility!  It was a little bit messier than normal, but we still got enough batter in the muffin tins.

 H chose his outfit for church this weekend.  

Thankfully I was able to talk him out of it.  I'm sure we would have gotten some second glances!

 C was pretending to go tee-tee like big brother. 

 We ate supper on the deck last night.  Early baths and beautiful weather.  Such a nice evening!

 

 Big brother has been a little under the weather today.  Nothing like watching shows on Mama's bed while snuggling Leonard to help you feel better!

 One of my not-so-guilty mom pleasures is still rocking C to sleep at nap time!  He puts himself to bed at night time, but I love my snuggles at nap time!  It's getting a little crowded though with the two blankies, two owls, and two balls that he has to sleep with. 

Aaargh!

 We went to a local jumping place this week called Pirate Adventures.  The boys had a blast!  They have a huge pirate ship that you can climb up and I got to do it with the boys a few times.  Most of my pictures from our day are a little blurry because they didn't stop moving!  We met up with their buddy Henry but somehow we didn't get any pictures of them all together. 

 C's favorite was the plasma cars.  He spent most of his time riding around and around!

H was so nice to help C up the steps and went down the slides with him.   He's a good big brother!

Vroom!  The boys were worn out by lunch time, but it was worth it!  

Campfire

We've been enjoying building a "campfire" the last week in the "meadow." In other words, we've made a very large pile of sticks in the lower part of our back yard.   It has been so much fun!  The boys love having a purpose out there, and I enjoy watching them (or reading while they are collecting).

 Our 'tibity (activity) today was to bring marshmallows and chocolate covered graham crackers and 'tend (pretend) to have smores! 

 It is so nice to have some extra room for them to run down there!

 H collected some really big sticks! 

 He is great at finding them in the grass and at the edge of the woods behind our house.

 C was great at finding some sticks and a lot of other things - leaves, pine needles, tiny flowers...

 

 H loves marshmallows!  C is starting to like them...

Pic a day, part 3

 This boy loves hats, shoes and balls!  

This morning he ate breakfast while holding onto his little basketball, and this afternoon right after I put him in his crib for his nap (he was already asleep), he woke up just enough to ask for his hat!

We've had very cold weather off and on the last few weeks, and we really enjoy the sunny somewhat warm days when they happen!

C was watching the "rakos" (tractors) do work behind our house.

 Then we saw our neighbors, and we made pinecone (H kept calling them acorns) bird feeders with Clara Hartwell.  She didn't want to get her hands dirty with the Crisco, but somehow H ended up with it all over his hands and pants and C had it all over his hands, cheeks, and even in his hair!  I think C uses his hair as a napkin if he doesn't have a wipe....
