Rain boot robots!

 These two...
Sunday morning started off a little rainy!  After breakfast and a show, the boys selected their own matching outfits (they like to match if possible!), we put on rain boots and headed outside to splash!  Somehow they started saying "Rain boot robots!" and moving and beep-boop-ing like robots.  So silly!  And we had such a giggly good time!

H said "Mama, get your camera!"  He wanted me to take a picture of him catching raindrops on his tongue!

It wasn't raining too hard, but the boys were soaked!  What better way to end a puddle splashing session than with hot chocolate and lots of marshmallows!

They probably spent about thirty or more minutes drinking hot chocolate and watching home videos.  They think they are very funny!

After all that fun, it was time to clean up and go to church!  Handsome boys (and C was not complete without the pink flosser!)

Snapshots

Watching the workers out back.  I think Tatum likes to be "one of the boys!"  Any time we are sitting on the floor is seen by him as an open invitation to play!

Morning lessons:
H: "Brother, what does 'A' start with?"
C: "That!"
 Bright futures, for sure!

The little girl next door had a huge blow up slide for her birthday.  Since H was still under quarantine, he couldn't go!  They were nice enough to let us try it out after the guests left!  H was very understanding, but we all had a blast!  So fun!

Watching the party next door, I love how C just sat on H.  Sweet boys!

My little rocket ship!  That has been the most used costume.

Here, Fishy, Fishy!
What trip to Walmart is complete without visiting the fish?

Black Bayou

Because H is still under chicken pox quarantine, church was out of the question, so we decided to go to Black Bayou and take a little stroll!

The boys were so happy, H kept saying "I LOVE Black Bayou!"

Won't you come and walk with us?

The boys both took seriously the job of holding their "notes," (maps) to help us know the way to go.  We also sat on every single bench and read every single sign!

The stage at the amphitheater was one of H's favorite stopping points!  He sang his old faithful that his puppets all sing "If your happy and you know it..."  We all took turns performing, and we all received standing ovations!

C was very interested in the "tatter" (tractor) over by the loading dock.  He just stood for a minute to look at it.  He also does this for Jeeps!  And each boat was "PawPaw's boat!"  C also saw some grandfather age men, and each time he saw one he said "dersapop!"  (There's a Pop!)  he loves his grandpas and sees them all around!

They enjoyed the viewing stations, H saw lots of trees!  He noticed so many dragonflys, big ants, and lizzards.

Taking a little rest back at the visitors center.  They did so good walking the whole way!  C was definitely a little tired at the end, but they did great!  We had "Church of the Bayou" this weekend, and it was wonderful!  H said he wants to come every day.  We will be going more often now that it is a little cooler.

We even took the time to smell the flowers!  Looks like it smells good!  C loved listening to the "Kickits and Kaydids." (Crickets and catydids.)

Another one, I just love these pictures!  I hope they always walk through life just like this!  Side by side!

These two

These two keep me laughing and keep me on my toes!
They are pretty fun to hang out with!
We had yet another sick day yesterday.  H woke up with a crazy rash on his arms and tummy, turns out he has chicken pox!  And he's been vaccinated!  It explains the random on and off fevers and fatigue he was having a week or so ago.  He seems to feel fine now, just a little tired and itchy, but he's been banned from school the rest of the week.

We ran a couple of errands in the morning and then just had fun hanging out in the afternoon.

Tatum seemed pretty happy to have the boys in his kennel!  The boys thought it was hilarious.

H pulled out the walkie talkies that were forgotten for awhile in their closet.  It took a bit to get the process of holding down the button while talking, then letting go to listen, but they were having some pretty funny conversations!
"brother, over."  "Brother come to my house and play.  Okay."  "Brother. come in!"  And a lot of meshed together words from C.

We hit the costume jackpot at a childrens consigment sale!  The boys were loving dressing up and being silly.  I even dressed up too!  We had a blast!  Who knew boys would like dressing up so much!  Astronaught, ninja, pirate, rocket ship, Cat in the Hat, and tons of random hats: jester, explorer, fireman, baseball and more!

It was getting pretty silly around here!

H's class at school submitted some recycled art to the local fair, and they won!  H was so proud of his "winning ribbon" that he needed to sleep with it.

What better way to end a school day than with a car wash!  C was mesmerized!

Jumping back in!

We had a nice little swim this weekend!  In addition to swimming, C likes to "dup dep" (jump from the steps), and H likes to "paint" the ground with water.

On Saturday morning, H asked me if he could "turn the windows on?"  I think he was mixing up turning the lights on and opening the windows.  We made muffins this weekend, and I told the boys we would need to measure the ingredients, and H ran and got his ruler.  He was ready to measure!

Eating Cuties (C calls them Cooties).  The boys have started lining them up to count them.  C roughly lines them up and counts "Two, fee, two, fee..."  (Two, three, two three)

H lines his up neatly and counts 1 to 10, and then subtracts for every piece he eats.

Nice weekend, with two sweet boys!

Again

I found this feather at school and brought it to H, he was so happy!  (Tatum was very interested too!)  We are not entirely sure what bird it comes from, but we looked through my whole bird book.  They need a Bird Feather book!

Poor guy, sick again!  Two weekends in a row!  Dr. Tatum to the rescue!  So many changes and new things this year, I'm hoping that when we are totally adjusted, the sicknesses will slow down.

We dropped H off at school on Monday (he loves school!) and then ran by my school to prepare for a sub, C enjoyed decorating a music symbol bird with stickers!  "I did it!" he kept  saying.

We went to the doctor, they thought it was strep, his throat was so red, but just a little sinus infection and a very sore throat.  Antibiotics already have him on the mend.
He didn't mind having a little extra attention on his sick day.

Blankies, sheets, pacifiers, toothbrushes, and the house have been cleaned and sanitized thoroughly!

Three ring circus

Having fun with the funnel we keep in the tub, (Thank you for sending it, SweetHart!)  I think the boys have gotten the most creative and imaginative with the funnel over all of the other toys/things we have in the tub.  Hat, spout, teepee, and so on, and so on!

One day, H climbed up on the couch and pointed to the map and said "On Saturday at 12:31, I want to go there!"

We were feeling a little goofy on Sunday...All three of us had silly-hair-flying-top-knots!  It definitely cheered up an under the weather little brother.

H's drawing of "Everybody at the talent show."  I love his artwork!  The banana shaped head, he told me was C.  ?

This is where Tatum likes to stay whenever I put on my makeup, wash my face, brush my teeth, etc - right on my feet!  And always with a toy!  I love my little puppy!  He's finally calming down a little, and jumping a little less, and he is such a little companion, especially when the boys are at their Daddy's.  Love that dog!

A longer weekend

Our weekend started off great, and then on Labor Day, both boys woke up with a fever, no other symptoms, just a little fever that was gone by lunch, and then they woke up again with it the next day, and again it was gone by lunch.  So, we got an extra long weekend!  I must say that I didn't mind the extra snuggles and calmness around the house (with two energetic boys and a puppy, it can get pretty wild around here!)
So, there was a lot of this

 and this

And some quieter activities like drawing caterpillars,

And coloring shrinky-dinks and watching them shrink.

Weekend fun

Our weekend was full!  Of driving cars (thank you SweetHart!).  H was interested in following the road rules (that he created, but mainly staying on the road), and C was having some wild off-roading adventures!

Picnic at the park, Lunchables and juice!  Somehow we had the park all to ourselves and the boys loved being able to explore to their hearts content!

A little construction zone fun!  We followed the instructions to make a motorcycle and a bulldozer, but then they started making their own and very interesting creations.  And C collected all of the little yellow washers and put them in his mini M&M container (and then carried it around all weekend, and got upset when he would find one more washer that just wouldn't fit!)

It had cooled off a little, but now it is hot again!  They boys were happy to be in the pool.  Tatum liked it when they used the goggles as a water bowl for him to drink from.

Pool party!  C decided he needed to make use of all of the floaties available.  He had a hard time getting in the water.  Thankfully he decided to take the life vest off shortly.  H is swimming so well!  We just need swim lessons for him.

Hide and Seek, you found me!

Time flies!

We've seen some pretty sunrises on the way to school! The schedule of a working mother starts a little earlier than a stay at home mom!  Well, I guess the hours are the same, but we just leave the house a lot earlier!

One of our favorite after school activities.  We call it loop-de-loop, but I think it is one of those Dagedar(sp?) sets.  Its fun to watch the balls go around the track and try to make a jackpot.  The rest of the fun is to try to get the balls before Tatum does!  This entertains all of us!

We have a little office in this house, and I do use it to store some of my books and crafts and things, but I also keep the desk area supplied and ready with art supplies for the boys.  They love it!  I will find one or both of them at various times in there drawing/crafting away.  They've made some pretty neat things!  I like it that it is ready for them whenever the desire to create hits!

The little green tree frogs here are different from Oxford's brown frogs.  H caught this one and said "Look at my frog, brother.  Its a miracle!"

There were some old school supplies that were to be discarded, so I grabbed an old printing calculator, I thought H would like it, and he did!  He's been typing up lots of "lists" and telling me what they say.   Phone numbers, grocery lists, to do lists, etc.  After typing up one set I heard him say "Oh no!  That's not Jerusalem!"  Not sure what he meant by that...

C liked the old library return date stamp.  He had stamped numbers all over his arms, hands, paper, table.... I had to start really watching him with it!
