Thankful

Thanksgiving was such a beautiful day, I was just happy to have the time with the boys, in our warm house, with our furry animals!
We spent the morning exploring and throwing rocks at the boat ramp.  A little bit cold, but so much beauty to see!

We chatted with Pop, SweetHart, and KK on facetime.
What a wonderful blessing technology is for staying in touch with family!

I'll just post the pictures from our Thanksgiving afternoon at Nanny's.  It was full of good food, good family, and the boys were very well behaved.

After lunch we went out for a little exploring in Nanny's yard, playing hide and seek, wandering, and finding monsters in the bushes!  A wonderful afternoon.  We have much to be thankful for.

Weekend Snapshots

We got to see Santa fly in on a helicopter from the North Pole!  So exciting! Somehow I don't have any pictures of him flying in, but after, we went and did some fun Christmas activities with our buddy Alex.

The boys wrote letters to Santa.
C just wrote the letter C all over his paper, and H wrote "Santa, Pokemon - H" He is really hoping for a Pokemon sleep buddy for Christmas (He is really into Pokemon lately.  Not so interested in watching the show, just in the cards and his book.)

The elves were there handing out candy.  Sooo many people were at the event, but it was fun and the boys were great!

We enjoyed some beautiful weather for half of the weekend,

And then we enjoyed the rain for the other half!  The boys can have some fun with some buckets in the rain!

On the rainy afternoon we went to see Big Hero 6 in the theaters.  We arrived a few minutes early, and I had the boys running up and down all of the halls of the theater, which were fairly empty, and they sat so still during the movie!  It was great!  We all enjoyed the movie, and now have to give fist bumps like Baymax (sp?) did.

Thanksgiving Feast

C with his "best friend Talan"

C's class had his Thanksgiving Feast at his school today.
Me and H played snuck away from our school and went to be with C.
I had asked C if he wanted just Mama to come, but he also wanted his brother to come too.  I love how much they love each other.

The three year old classes sand two or three songs and then we had a Thanksgiving feast!  I think the whole presentation lasted about 90 seconds total, which was perfect for a bunch of three year olds!

C thought his little turkey cupcake was the cutest thing ever!
I was always told that he wasn't the best eater at school, but he ate up some corn and ham and two big cups of milk.  He must be eating a little better this year.

C and his teacher, Miss Katie.  She was dressed up like and Indian too!
He loves going to school!

 Me and my turkeys!
I love my silly boys!

C's Thanksgiving art in his classroom.
So cute!  The leaf says he is thankful for "the cupcake mixer, the dinosaur and a tractor."

Snapshots

Saturday morning craft with friends.   I am so not ready to think about Christmas, but the boys sure are!
Cute little hand print reindeer!

Lunch with buddies afterward.  They love each other!

Their first trip to ToysRUs (not sure how we managed that!) and Santa was there!
C wanted to go tell Santa after every little cool toy he saw (Batman, Paw Patrol, Menja (Ninja) Turtles).  H wasn't too interested in anything until he saw the Pokemon toys and cards.

We went from lovely mild fall weather to 30's and below... COLD!!!! We've been bundling up to brave the cold for little bits of time.

Indoor creativity is in full swing!  Lite Brite, puzzles, indoor dining chair trains and more!

Puddle splashing and balloon chasing.  We were all cold and wet, but oh so happy!

H's work in his nature journal.
A clam and a crescent moon.

Team work at its finest!

Snapshots: Pop and SweetHart edition

 Saturday morning talks with Pop

Pop and SweetHart took the boys to the play place while I went grocery shopping (a treat for everyone!) and then when I went to get them, the boys just had to take Pop and SweetHart on the elevator. (Oh, so exciting!!!) And we had to take a picture in the elevator to document it, of course!

The boys loved having little projects, or little things to work on with them, here, H is making caramel apples with SweetHart, while C is making "Pop Biscuits" (buttermilk biscuits) with Pop.

Reading the bedtime story with SweetHart outside one night.

C had an appointment with the ENT one morning, so he and I went there while everyone else did their thing.  C loved the individual attention from me and the doctors and nurses.

After C's appointment, we ran by Nanny's to see she and Pop for a tiny visit,

And then met up with H and SweetHart at Black Bayou where they were taking part in a nature hike/activity.

The boys were sketching leaves in their nature journals while SweetHart and Pacha monitored the group.

Some of H's drawings.  He has a little book with directions on how to draw things and does very well.

Friday Fun: Pop and SweetHart

H and C had special visitors at their schools on Friday.  Pop and SweetHart came to read a story "Tap the Magic Tree" to the boys classes.  We were all excited to have them there!  Pop and SweetHart came to attend the Veteran's Day Program at my school to see some of my students perform (I was very happy to have my Veteran, my Daddy there!), and then headed over to H's class.

H was very happy to see them and a little shy from the attention, but the kids loved the book (It is very interactive.)

Some of H's class listening to the story.
They headed to C's school next (no pictures) but C loved having them there!

Then we had Friday Night Pizza Night and a movie.  We watched The Croods.
Great way to end the week!

Outdoor adventures with Pop and SweetHart

We headed over to Forsythe Park for a little exploring with Pop and SweetHart.  We took a picnic lunch and then started wondering.  It was such a beautiful day.

We even did a little tree climbing together.

C adored spending some "guy time" with Pop playing flipball (football) and baseball.

H and SweetHart did some rock art.

We took a little adventure over to Yellow Park one afternoon and enjoyed the beauty.
The boys enjoy going to the park, but I think they prefer exploring over the playground now.

Pop and SweetHart are HERE!!!!!!

They made it!!!! We have been so excited for them to come!
The boys jumped right in showing them things around the house, and asking them to read to them.

The morning after they came we went to our new favorite place to go, the Boat Ramp!
The boys discovered these amazing little snail shells in the water.  So pretty!

A picture with my boys!  I love our little adventures together!

 One happy dog!

C was "fishing" in the water with Pop, and H was nature journaling with SweetHart.
So beautiful, peaceful, and lovely there!  We all enjoyed the morning.

After the boatramp, we headed to Nanny's for a little birthday celebration for Pop.  It was great to see the family and celebrate Pop! Both boys drew him a picture and C decorated a "spy glass" (rolled up paper with some stamps and a C on it) and a popsicle stick.  H made him a jingle bracelet ( pipe cleaner with bells) and drew him a picture.

More adventures are to come...
