Black Bayou had a fun Earth Day celebration. We have really enjoyed all of their events.
This one had the blue goose and a puppy (I can't remember their names) and C was excited to see them. H was "feeling a little bit shy." C helped with the Turning of the Goose." I didn't get a picture of it, but they turned the big goose to show that the migration of the birds has changed direction, it was pretty neat to be a part of that.
ULM's chemistry department was there with some fun science experiments for kids, with some great ideas that I will have to remember on those long summer days! They even gave the kids a little passport to complete for a goodie bag.
The Monroe zoo was there with some animal visitors. The snake is always a fun one to see!
At the "face painting" station. C asked for a blue snake on his arm, and H wanted a green lizzard (anole lizzard) like we see out our window at home.
There was also a Red Shouldered Hawk (if I remember correctly). The hawks name was Betty, which the boys thought was pretty funny.
H and his "elk horn" (deer antler)
Doing a little fishing...
And resting back at the house with our butterfly flowers.
