Earth Day Fun

Black Bayou had a fun Earth Day celebration.  We have really enjoyed all of their events.
This one had the blue goose and a puppy (I can't remember their names) and C was excited to see them.  H was "feeling a little bit shy."  C helped with the Turning of the Goose." I didn't get a picture of it, but they turned the big goose to show that the migration of the birds has changed direction, it was pretty neat to be a part of that.

ULM's chemistry department was there with some fun science experiments for kids, with some great ideas that I will have to remember on those long summer days!  They even gave the kids a little passport to complete for a goodie bag.

The Monroe zoo was there with some animal visitors. The snake is always a fun one to see!

At the "face painting" station.  C asked for a blue snake on his arm, and H wanted a green lizzard (anole lizzard) like we see out our window at home.

There was also a Red Shouldered Hawk (if I remember correctly).  The hawks name was Betty, which the boys thought was pretty funny.

H and his "elk horn" (deer antler)

 Doing a little fishing...

And resting back at the house with our butterfly flowers.

POP!!!!

The boys were so happy that Pop came to visit us!
I hadn't told them that he was coming, so it was a fun surprise!

Making Pop Biscuits with Pop!
They love when he makes these for us!!!
(Yummy buttermilk biscuits)

Baseball practice with C.
Then frisbee throwing with H.

And then some manly climbing on things and jumping off of them.
The boys wore themselves (and Pop) out!

H loved doing homework with Pop.

 Puzzle time,

 Story time

Silly time!
We love you Pop!
We miss you already!

Stomp Rockets

Pop had seen some kids in his neighborhood playing stomp rockets and thought the boys would like it.  He gave the boys a set, and he was right!  They loved it!  Making things fly, stomping hard on something.  A recipe for fun! My favorite part was seeing all of the silly faces!  I was laughing so hard at everyone's expressions.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Wee Ball

C was so excited for his first WeeBall practice!  I wasn't sure exactly what to expect with a group of three and four year olds, but it was fun and he LOVED it!

Getting ready to run the bases.

H found another big brother to run and play with.  Which made him oh so happy!

C was surprisingly good at hitting.  Made contact most times and hit it pretty far.

All week long he was asking when the next practice was, and carrying his mitt in the car and everywhere.  Sleeping with it too!

 Practice two!
Much more involvement from the daddy's, which gave all of the kids much more individualized practice.
C did much the same, but really liked playing "ribbit."  The coach had them hop to get the ground balls, and he didn't want to get out of frog form to throw the ball or anything else.  Silly boy!

Passed out after ball practice.  Worn out!

Skating Fun

We went to Java Dave's for a little breakfast and hot chocolate (and coffee), and a little tablet time.
C was so intent on buttering his pancakes.
(He calls butter "honey")

Then we met up with our buddy Alex for some skating!
They were so excited!

They moved H up to the next step of skates, and it took a little getting used to.  I don't think Alex was a fan of skating.  C just clunked around in his training skates.  They were all on the floor almost immediately.  My back was so sore the next day from trying to keep them upright.

I enjoyed skating with this good looking guy!  He did really good once he stopped trying to keep track of all of the numbers on the floor.

C loved playing limbo, and because he's pretty small, he did really good at it!

Snapshots

Sunday Best!
It is astonishing the amount of pictures we have to go through in order to get one good one.

Morning artwork
C's "stamp" art, and H drew our family.  C said "I like it!  Why did you give me girl hair?"

 Playing in the rain.
Goggles required!

Playing in puddles is so fun!
It is so hard for the boys to play outside without getting messy.
Thankful for warm baths and washing machines!

 Monday night dance class.

Parent Pacnic

C's class decorated the M of the Welcome sign.

I was able to sneak away for a little bit to go to the parent picnic at C's school.
It was fun to see him and his buddies doing their thing.

 Picnic Selfie.
All of the other kids had their picnic set up on the field, but C wanted to sit on the play structure on the playground.  So we did!  He had requested PB and H, grapes, yogurt, and a capri sun.  I also brought him a piece of candy for a special treat.

I left right at nap time, so I got C to pretend he was sleeping.  He thought that was funny.

Preschool is hard!
He often will catch a little nap on the way home.
I think many days he doesn't nap at school so I'm happy for him to get a tiny rest.

Zoo field trip

I was so happy to be able to go to the zoo with H's class.  I got to ride the bus with them too!
So fun!   H and his buddy Shamaria were partners that day.

Checking out the spider monkeys, his favorite!

Hello, Lion!
So fun to be able to see all of these animals up close

Checking out the Indian exhibit.

 Boat ride selfie.
That was mu favorite part of the trip.  Pretty, peaceful, and lots of animals to see.

We were following the peacocks around, hoping they would open up their feathers.  Finally one did!  So pretty!

The whole class. Silly guys!
