Snapshots

Super Cool!
Tatum tolerates the boys ideas fairly well,
I think he forgives them for dressing him up because they also play tug of war with him and let him chase the laser dot around.

We had a gift card to Orange Leaf for frozen yogurt and really enjoyed using it!
Silly boys had fun there, and H practiced balancing a spoon on his nose

 I love this face!

I loved their criss-crossed bodies on the bed while playing on their tablets.
I'm surprised that Tatum wasn't snuggled with them too!

 C's "About Me" Project.
He said he doesn't like soup,  he likes our dog Tatum, we wants to be a police man, and the word that describes him is "silly."

 Tooth number two is gone!

We've been enjoying snow cones on Fridays!
A fun way to end the week.
I wish we could end our week early this week!

Back to School, Round 2

C's first day of Kindergarten.
He was so ready!
He has the same teacher that H had for Kindergarten, and I'm so happy about that.  We love her!

H finally lost his first tooth!
We were starting to get a little worried that he wasn't losing any, but he finally did!
(One of the bonuses about teaching at my child's school is that when it got really wiggly he came to my classroom and I was able to pull it out for him!)

Helping C put his Lego Mixel together.
They both got a Mixel for their first day of school.

C's teacher always does The Kissing Hand activities on the first day of school, and this is what C brought home.  I love it!

This is what the Tooth Fairy brought H.
Lots of fairy dust, and some fancy folded dollars.

 And back at the doctor,
Only a couple days into the school year and C came down with strep throat.

There's a boy in their somewhere!
It's good to be back at school, but it has worn us out!

Back to School

The weekend before we started back to school, our church had a Back to School Bash with yummy food and an awesome water slide.  The boys had a blast!!! I wish I had brought my swim suit! I loved to see their different styles of sliding.

 First day of second grade!!!!
He's been so ready, but he says its a lot of hard work.

We had our first Cub Scout meeting of the year, and H got his tiger stripes and now is officially a Wolf!

This is from H's classroom for Back to School Night
His own Selfie!

Last Week of Summer!

We spent our last week of school having as much fun as we could!

The boys did a lot of dressing up
(and using multiple costumes at once!)

We did some more swimming, and perfecting the perfect jump,
H was going for height and distance, C was going for "I'm a ninja!" or "I'm a tiger!"

We went to the KidzTown and got some energy out inside where it was cool!

C was practicing his Bucket Drumming skills!

We made a trip to Skate Town.

 And Altitude

We got a Plasma Ball at the aquarium this summer, and have had fun playing with it/shocking each other at night!

A week of music

We all got to participate in Music Camp this summer.
It was a Kodaly method camp.  The boys both participated in their age group, and I helped with C's class (and took lots of notes and stole lots of ideas!)  We all had a great week and learned so much!

C was with the younger kids with Mrs. Jo, a wonderful and energetic lady.

H was with the bigger kids and learned a lot and also got to have fun with Mrs. Jo.

After music camp, our library had a great drummer called Lady Chops.  She was wonderful!
Such a great program and skill.  She had been a street performer in New York and performed in STOMP for several years.  The kids were all enthralled and excited.
She gave them all a chance to participate and show off.
C decided then and there that he wants to be a drummer when he grows up.

Music camp had a Dance Friday night.  The kids had learned dances at music camp and they taught us some that night.  Barn dances, renaissance dances, and more!  All ages participated and had a great time. I hope they will have more of these dances.

We ended the week with a concert on Saturday with all of the songs they learned that week.
So proud of my little performers.  We all learned so much that week!

After music camp it was time to start getting my classroom ready for the new school year!  The PTO offered to pay for new paint for our school.  I love yellow, and the boys and I picked the paint out and then they helped me paint the bottom half of the walls.  It really brightened up the room! They were a great help!
(We were all a little yellow by the time we finished!)

I saw this cute fish made out of records at the dance.  I'd like to make one!

Snapshots

About every other week or so the boys would ask to bring their tents out for a living room sleepover.
They had pillows, sleeping bags, stuffed animals and all sorts of other stuff in their tents.  Tatum kept trying to claim their tents as his own, so they started making him his own tent with his bed, blanket, and toys in it.

Slip and slide fun!
I remember that they had been fighting all day long and finally started getting along while playing a silly game of pat-a-cake on the slip n slide.   I was just so glad that they weren't fighting anymore.

Tatum was so worn out after several games of tug-of-war.

 Bouncy balls.
These were the perfect things for getting some energy out when it was too hot outside.

It had been (much) too long since we've gone to the dentist.
They really did great and enjoyed all of the attention and gadgets to look at.
They both had great reports.

 After a busy rainy day.
They had been asking to go play in the rain all day.  When we finally had time to go play, the rain had stopped.  They made their own rain!

Mesmerized by floating flowers in the pool and getting just the perfect drop of water in the middle of the flower.
