Finally did it...

We went to Build-A-Bear!

It was such a cooooold Saturday!  I knew we wouldn't be playing outside, or going to the Christmas parade because of how cold it was!  I also knew that we would all become stir crazy before too long.  So we bundled up and headed to the mall with Build-A-Bear in mind!  I didn't tell the boys we were going there until we had arrived.  We don't go to the mall much, and H has just recently started noticing the fun toy stores (while we pass by), but he was soo excited to go in this time!  I hope I haven't created a monster!
They both quickly chose one animal and were set on it!
H chose a star bear, and C chose an alligator.

They were able to pick a heart for it, a song, and help stuff it.  The sweetest lady helped us, and we must have timed it just right because C and H were the only kids in the store, so they got some special attention.  It helped to make it a special and memorable event for them.  This might become a Christmas tradition.  (I didn't realize how pricy it would get!)

He barely stopped smiling and giggling the whole time.  He was so happy!

C wouldn't be still enough for a good picture, but you can see how happy he is!  Another lady tried to help him, but he had become attached to our first helper, he wouldn't let anyone else help him!

They gave their new animals a bath.  H gave his bear a fairly quick bath, but C wanted to keep his alligator's bath going and going and going!   Because of the bath in the store, H was really wanting to give his bear a real bath at home.  That took a little explaining...

They named their animals and got birth certificates.
H named his bear "Curly," and C named his alligator "Alligator."
(Speaking of names...at church this Sunday, someone asked H what his name is.  H replied "Harrison."  Then they turned to C and asked what his name is.  C replied "Harrison." and would not be corrected.  I had forgotten that "What is your name" is a learned conversation at two!)

H didn't want clothes for his bear, although now he is asking for Christmas pajamas.  C chose a Spider Man costume for his alligator.  C calls his alligator "Disaur Asnaught," (dinosaur astronaught).  Spider Man Alligator was just not sticking somehow.

The animals have been on the Merry-Go-Round, out to eat, to visit Nanny, and in the car to any place we go.  H is counting down the days until he can bring his bear to school for share day.  He has also pretended to give his bear Vitamins, water, PBH sandwiches and more!  What a life...
