Memorial Day

We spent the morning at Black Bayou

This was our "Guess where we are, SweetHart!" picture

We had found several leaves with caterpillar holes in them.
Lots of bugs, frogs, birds, and even a snake there this time!

 Running up the ramp.
H said "I feel like I'm flying!"

Tatum loves to go there, he even waits patiently while the boys put on their "shows" at the amphitheater.

We went bowling for the first time that afternoon with Alex.  It was fun!
The little ball ramp for the kids was a great help!
C decided it would be best to push the ball down the ramp with his head.

 Cute!

H decided that whoever wasn't bowling was the "ball watcher" who watched the ball come up the ball return.

Ball game #2

C had his second ball game this weekend,
He was so ready to go!

 Baseball glove high-fives

He has a pretty good record of hitting the ball.

Running the bases, sometimes he takes off running,
sometimes he just sort of jogs his way around the bases

Waiting for his turn to bat, it's so hard to be patient!

Lined up to give high fives to the other team.  It doesn't seem like these guys really know whats going on at any given moment, but I think they are all having fun!

PawPaw and Missy came to watch the game and we went to celebrate a job well done with slushies at Sonic afterward.  C felt so special!

Yay Summer!

We are so happy that summer is here!

Because we have surely worked hard this year!

We made it!

What a year!
The year had its own set of challenges (new work hours, kindergarten homework and learning, etc...) but all in all it was a great year!  A little easier for us than last year too!   We  have all learned and grown and experienced so much!

We had a little donut and juice celebration for and early birthday for C at his school.  He loved the attention, and kept asking me "Am I four now?"

This week, we've gotten home a little earlier and haven't had homework, so we've enjoyed some evening playtime - reading stories, riding bikes and chalk drawing.

We are all looking forward to summer,

 Tatum too!

I'm so glad we will have plenty of time for the boys to be their own silly selves.
(H saw a boy "toot under his arm" yesterday, and he expressed some interest in learning how.   I'm not sure I'm too excited about that summer plan...)
We have a VBS or two lined up, swim lessons, summer reading programs, a trip or two and lots of playing planned.

Chuck E Cheese

Our buddy, Alex didn't go to school on Monday, and the boys have been asking for awhile to go to Chuck E Cheese this summer, so we decided to surprise them with a little trip there!  They thought we were running some boring errands, and were so happy when they realized where we were going, and that Alex was there too!

I will let most of the pictures speak for themselves, they loved the games, and getting the tickets, and had a great time with themselves!

This was C last year when the mouse entered the room, he was so scared.  He hated that mouse!

This is C this year with the mouse!  Just like they were old friends!
What a difference a year makes!

We had fun with the prizes that they boys got for their tickets.
Silly boys! H loved his "dog whistle" (what he calls all whistles) and C with his "panpire teeth" (what he calls Vampire teeth).  I'm sure we'll be there again before the summer is over!

Sunday splash day

What a fun surprise to find on our door step from our neighbors on Sunday morning!
We have such great neighbors

Since we have one last week of school to go, we decided to pull out swimsuits and water hoses!
The boys were loving it! I'm just going to let the pictures speak for themselves!

Water slide day

H's school has a water slide day at the end of every school year as a reward for good behavior.
A couple of weeks ago H told me "You know how I keep my clip on the top flower? (the clip moves down for incidences of poor choices) I hold my breath!"  Last week he also told me "I know how to act like a first grader at school." So he's figured out good behavior at school!

H and his buddy Riley, lined up and waiting to head out to the water slide!

 H loved it!
It was a little bit on the chilly side, but he didn't mind at all!

They were having so much fun!
This was definitely a time when teaching at the same school had its perks!

Heading back to dry off and change into clean clothes.
They were all tired and wet!
A fun end of the year celebration!

Kindergarten graduation

I can't imagine that they school year has already come to an end!
It has flown by and the boys have both grown and accomplished so much!
I just can't believe that I have a first grader!

There was so much excitement in H's class as they were getting their caps and gowns on this morning.
They all looked so grown up.

I think this picture perfectly captures H's excitement over graduation.

The graduates lined and sitting so cutely.

H getting his diploma and trophy.  He loves that trophy.

 H with his friend Shamaria.
(He couldn't wait to get that hat off of his head.)

I loved this self portrait from H's memory book.
I guess it looks like him... he definitely got his blue eyes in there.

 My cute graduate!

H and his teacher, Ms. Stephens.  She has been a wonderful teacher for him this year.  I really appreciate that she has taught all of the students so well, and that she has helped them learn the rules and how to behave in school while allowing them to be themselves.

Enjoying "graduation juice" (as C calls it) after the ceremony.
H has had a great year, and C is excited to come here next year!
I'm so proud of my sweet boys!
