But I don't want to go inside!!!

Mama, I really would like to stay outside.

There are bubbles to watch....

See, Leonard likes it too...

There are cars going by...

I'll even snuggle with you if you let me stay outside...

LEAVES!!!! (Can I taste just one?)

I've gotta practice my climbing...

Leonard and I are bonding while watching the birds...

I told you I didn't want to go inside!

Diaper tales

I have posted before about cloth diapering, and we still faithfully do so - and love it! For the most part, it has gone without hitch. (bumGenius diapers are fairly fool-proof) We cloth diaper over night, when we go out, the church nursery worker is on board, his babysitter is on board, both grandmothers are fluff proficient (I don't think either grandfather has ever changed a diaper yet.... wonder how they managed that!). But, every now and again there will be a slight mishap. Today was our MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) meeting, and when I dropped him off at Moppetts I told the white haired nursery worker that H is in cloth diapers and began to give my brief explanation about it, and she said "Oh, I know all about cloth diapers!" And I thought, great!

After we got home and I was changing his diaper, getting ready for nap time, I discovered how much she knew about them!
His diaper was on backwards and very loose!

It even had a piece of masking tape with his name written on it!

I don't think this style would help too much in a diaper blow-out situation!

We both thought it was very funny! He was waddling away from me as I was chasing him with my camera, and the diaper kept getting lower... and lower....

Channeling Papa

My grandfather, Papa, was an electrical engineer. Several members of the family have gotten a little bit of that gene for fixing and creating things - my Daddy, Mary Ann, me, and... maybe H?

This morning he found a remote for a DVD player we replaced and was trying to 'fix' it.
(All engineers need a little something stuck to their feet too! Helps them concentrate!)

Attacking the problem from a different angle helps too!

Can you see the concentration? Making faces can prove useful in these situations.

I was impressed that he even got the batteries going in the right direction!
Papa would be proud!

The fix-it party promptly ended when the batteries went in the mouth. Drool and batteries don't really mix in this situation...

Easy weekend

Friday night, GrandMissy and Pawpaw came to watch H while N and I went on a date!!! A bit of an early birthday celebration. After supper, we walked and enjoyed this view:
It was nice to get out for a little while and have an adult conversation or two, and eat without cutting meat and veggies up into tee-tiny bites!

Relaxing after school:

Leonard puts up with a lot!

This reminded me of this picture from last Feb.
Now H is bigger than Leonard!
I miss that snuggly little lump of a baby, but I do love chasing after my busy baby now!

This little piggy....

Last night we peeked in on H while he was sleeping because he is just too cute and saw his little piggies hanging out of the crib.

He was scrunched up in the corner looking so cute! We're not quite sure how he got into this position, but it was definitely not bothering his sleep!

More cute piggies!!!He crosses his ankles like his Daddy while lounging. It's a good life!

My heart is melting...

An 'eggstra' special day!

Check out last year's Easter post if you have a minute!

This little guy had his second Easter today! We had planned an outfit for colder weather but had to regroup a little because it was almost 90* today!!! We had a little egg hunt at Nanny's, and he found a couple of them but seemed to be thinking 'of course there are eggs everywhere!'

I just noticed that H's legs look like they are about two inches tall in this pic! I think he got my legs!

(a little yoga break)

He was getting hot and tired at this point!

GrandMissy and Papaw came over for Easter dinner.

We were having fun after supper turned H upside down, immediately after I turned him upside down he giggled and tooted!

Happy Easter!

Becoming a little man

This little guy is coming into his own! Becoming more stable at walking, trying new foods, more vocal about his likes and dislikes. It is so fun to see his little personality coming through! I can't wait to see the young boy and eventually young man he will become!

We have discovered that he loves meat! One night, just to see what he would do, we put some kibbeh (lebanese meat dish) on his tray, and to our surprise - he loved it! He now likes french toast, cheese, and will tolerate cooked carrots and bananas, but he loves meat! Breakfast sausage, meatballs, steak, curried chicken salad, and ribs! He learned to sign 'more' while eating ribs!

He also has taken an interest in things with loud motors: vacuums, blow dryers, and drills. Here he is helping his Daddy install a child safety lock to keep our wedding crystal safe!

Becoming a man...becoming like his Daddy.... and uncle, and grandfathers....

those are big shoes to fill!
