Dr. Suess!

On Friday at the Ole Miss bookstore there was a little birthday party for Dr. Seuss.  When I told H about it, he said "no, it's my birthday!"  I think since we celebrated his birthday recently he thinks that every celebration is for him!
It was extra special because Daddy could come with us!  We picked him up by his office and then headed to the bookstore.
H was a little overwhelmed by the kids from the Ole Miss pre-school.

Can you see why?
Some of the little girls had water bottles in their hair to achieve a Who-ville kind of hair do.
He enjoyed it and listened very quietly.  He loves to read Seuss's Wish for a Fish at home.

C was enthralled too!   You can't see it in the picture, but C had his hand up to grab two or three strands of my hair.  If it is down, he happily has a handful tangled in his fingers, but if it is up, he knows just how to get two or three to tug on.

They gave the kids smoothies and cookies and little goody bags with Lorax related things and stickers.
H decorated himself and his carseat with the stickers on the way home.

sidenote:  When we arrived at story time, H told the woman in charge "I went poo-poo on the potty and it was a big poo-poo!"  He was very proud of himself, and she responded very cooly "Well, everybody poops!"
And on Sunday when we were on our way home from church, H told us that he needed to go poo-poo.  We had just passed through a four way stop and so Daddy did some fancy maneuvering to get us headed in the right direction to go to a gas station.  Almost immediately there were some flashing blue lights.  When the police officer came to the window, N said "I'm sorry about that, sir.  My son just informed us that he needed to go poo-poo."   The officer got a chuckle out of that and told us to drive safely.   I wonder what he wrote in his records about that!
Everybody poops!

Another sidenote:  Ole Miss has some great activities - Dr. Suess birthdays for little ones, and wonderful guests like the Vienna Boys Choir and Garrison Keilor( GARRISON KEILOR!!!!!! I LOVE Prairie Home Companion!!!).  So N and I have had a couple of fun dates this month!  I have been running lately, and there is nothing that makes the time pass better than listening to Prairie Home Companion on the iPod.
