Snow Day 3

I used some of our extra time to make a couple t-shirts for the boys.
They loved them (and wore them for two days in a row!)

It actually started snowing!!! Not just sleet, but flakes (and clumps) of snow!
We rushed out to play in it, (just in case it was short lived) and it was so beautiful and fun!

 Snow angels!

Tatum actually wanted to go exploring with us!

 Snow painting.
H decorated our snowman, I painted a heart, and C decorated his foot print.

 We made snow ice cream.
The boys loved it! They abandoned the spoons and just started picking up and eating the clumps of snow.

 So beautiful!
It snowed for hours, and we ended up with a solid four or more inches of snow.  (A lot for us).
I loved playing in it along with the boys and then sitting by the window, crocheting and watching it snow while the boys napped/rested.

 Scooter races down the hallway.
A great way to release some energy.  One of the major bonuses of concrete floors!

On the last afternoon of snow days our power went out for a few hours right at nap time.  We did a couple crafts, read, played on out tablets, and then the boys took a warm bath with light up balls.  The power came on just in time for supper, and just as the house was starting to get a little chilly!

We enjoyed our days off, and the boys did really well with all of the time cooped up in the house, but we were all ready to get out of the house and see some new faces!

Snow day 2

Watching the sleet/snow come down outside.

Pancakes were perfect for a snow day morning!  They loved the letters!

 "It's cold!"
We could only have short increments of outside times before we had to go back in and warm up.

H was soo excited to show me the heart he found in the snow!

While the weather wasn't too bad we went with our buddy Alex and his mama to eat some lunch out and then they came back and watched Box Trolls with us.

Each day we did a little "homework."  One boy would go play by himself for a bit and I would do a little one on one work with the other boy.  They actually seemed to enjoy a little one on one time and a little break from each other.

After baths one night I found C in the dryer.  When I asked him what he was doing, he said "I couldn't find my super hero undies."  Too cute not to picture!

Sleet Day 1

We had some COLD weather this week!  Freezing temps, sleet, snow, ice....
We began to look forward to our evening "Out of an abundance of caution the superintendant has decided to close the schools tomorrow...." phone call.  The boys were happy!  Although by day 4 C was asking to go to school!

Some of the activities we filled our first snow day with:

Hair cuts for the boys.

Slingshot practice (with wool felt balls)

 Hallway croquet
(with wool dryer balls!)

Dress Up

Board games, card games, and lots of playing

It finally started to snow/sleet a lot, and we had to make a little family of snow men.

 Snow day selfies

 Tablet time

Fireworks!  So fun and beautiful against the white background

Tatum usually likes to be outside if we are outside,
but he was perfectly content to stay inside watching us with Horton.

Shoveling/raking the snow/sleet/slush. A great way to play in the snow without their hands getting too cold!

Laser tag in the snow!  Fun!

Snapshots

You know you have kids when:
The angels in their bedroom have finger laser head lamps.

And when a sticky hand ends up mysteriously stuck to the ceiling...

Porch picnics are fun!  Sushi for Mama and lunchables for boys.

Hanging out in a tractor... that's all!

C chose to watch his morning show in a crate.

My jungle boys after bath time.  I don't know what it is about bathtime that encourages such silliness... They are always on the verge of having fun and getting in trouble/hurting their brother at bathtime.

Playing the "strum-tar."  A little night music.  They were very into it.

I realized about halfway through the day yesterday that H was wearing C's too small 3T jacket.  It matches his 5T jacket, and somehow they've never mixed them up before, but they sure did yesterday!  I told H and he said "Don't worry, I won't tell anybody."  Silly boy.

SIX!!!

How is it that this boy is six????
He's been so excited about his birthday and his party!
He was excited for his friends to come and for his family to be there to celebrate.
Luckily, the weather was beautiful for the party (we had planned it for the park).  Beautiful and wonderful day to celebrate!

The kids played on the play ground for awhile. The rock angels they made were too cute!

Opening presents.  They were all so excited to see what he got.

We went to McD's (C calls it Miss Donalds now.) for some kids meals with Alex and his family.

We spent the afternoon taking it easy and letting H check out all of his new gifts.  He got some great and creative presents, he loves his new Pokemon toys and his new scooter.

Last night as a five year old.  I can't believe it!

Birthday king cake on his actual birthday.
I had saved a couple presents for his actual birthday and he was happy to see them.

We took a picnic lunch and their new ball pets (can't leave little brother out!) to the play place for a fun and silly morning.

The next day we brought cupcakes, Cheetos and Capri Suns for his class.  He was a pretty gracious host both at his party for school and at the park.

I think six is going to be great!

Valentine's Day

Busy week!  Decorating Valentines boxes, addressing Valentines, bringing goodies to parties, arranging for Valentines at the boys schools....

I got to sneak over to H's class Valetine's Party.  All of the kids were so excited and happy and hyped up on sweets!  They had Johnny's pizza and got to decorate their own heart shaped cookies.

C came home with an overflowing box full of goodies!  And a balloon and a bear.  He was so happy.  He didn't so much care for all of the candy, but was so happy about the Spiderman and Paw Patrol Tattoos that he got.

The cutest little love bugs!  I love this art!

We spent the morning at H's 6th birthday party (I will post later on that), and then just enjoyed each other the rest of the day.
We played a fun game of Laser Hide and Seek.
(Turn all of the lights off and then go hide with your lasers.  It was so fun)

Then we got wild with some noise makers.  We know how to celebrate!

Earlier that afternoon we went out back and the boys climbed and ran down and climbed some more on the big dirt pile.  (Rock pile has been replaced with a dirt pile.)
I love how the pictures turned out.
