Weekend in pictures

 Easter Egg Hunt, round 2
At a fun church with face painting, balloon animals, snow cones and more!
(C had figured out not to dawdle over the first man, but to get as many eggs as fast as you can by now.)

 Sunday Best!
(Squinty-too-bright-sun-eyes and all!)

 Fun at the park
(Why is it so hard to get them both smiling and looking at the camera???)

 Climbing trees at the park

We made "Easter Ninjas" (our Christmas Sugar cookie recipe) decorated them and took them to our neighbors.  C got a little zealous with the green sprinkles...

Delivering cookies to the neighbors.
I'm thankful for such good neighbors!

Weekend Snapshots

A little body tracing and bird/car watching

 They gave themselves superhero belts

 A little morning muffin making.

C put cute clothespins on his feet, because, why not?

Who knew that getting the oil changed could be so interesting!
I'll bet the guy working wasn't used to so many questions while he works.

 Celebrating Nanny's 94 years!
What a legacy! And how thankful I am that we could celebrate with her!

I remembered loving puzzles when I was young, and thought I would try a grown up puzzle with the boys.  They've done ok with it, I think if I try again, I will find a puzzle with smaller images to match.  C is learning that some puzzles pieces are friends and that some just aren't (no matter how many times you pound on them).  When I told H that I loved puzzles when I was younger, he asked if I was "winning against SweetHart?"  He just wasn't quite willing to accept that it isn't a contest, just something to do for fun.

 Enjoying the sun!

Watching Dancing With the Stars.  (In a crate)
C decided he might want to be a dancer when he grows up, and C asked if every girl was a princess, and commented on every man's belly button.   What a different but fun experience it was watching with them.  H thought we should have popcorn and make a night of it, so, we did!

Epic!

Too many days of snow, clouds, rain, and mud!

Finally the sun came out, but it was still so muddy.

Oh well!

H's School Days

H has really gotten the hang of getting ready quickly and without any assistance in the mornings.  Many morning he shows up totally ready for school while I am in the shower.

If he gets ready quickly he watches a little Odd Squad or Curious George while the rest of us finish getting ready (with a few kisses from Tatum).

H and Shamaria.  They are good friends and she is so sweet and gentle, she really calms H down.  It is always so interesting for me to see the kinds of friends that the boys are drawn to (or clash with).  I'm thankful for their friends!

 Doing their seat work.

Friday lunch date with this sweet boy.  I enjoy chatting with he and his classmates.  I guess I'll be okay when he doesn't want me to come eat with him anymore...

 Snow cones!
The snow cone truck comes about once a month now, and it is always so exciting.

I finally got a smart board in my classroom, and the kids were enjoying taking turns being the "Note Naming Teacher."  Even the young ones did surprisingly well, and H loved it.

For good behavior, and a treat, kids can eat lunch in the courtyard.

I love being able to see him throughout the day.

C's School Day

 So hard to wake up!
C is the late sleeper in the house, I have to wake him up most days, and it takes him a little bit to get going, but he's finally getting the routine down.

Getting ready in the mornings...

C's best friend Tylan.  They are nutty together!

 In the dress up closet.

Upside down in the car seat.
He really likes to make people laugh!

And this is how I found C when I picked him up from school.

Saturday

I somehow woke up super early on Saturday, so I got to have a little quiet time.  C woke up very late, so after H woke up, he and I were able to have a little special time together.  We played a couple of games and did some painting before finally waking C up a little before 9! I'm thankful for the special little times with each boy.

We did a fun craft at Michael's and then went to Chick Fil A for some playtime and lunch with buddies.
After so much bad weather it was great to have an indoor play area for them to play and expend some energy!

The last time we saw a costumed adult, H was shy and wouldn't leave my side, and when C was younger, he would have a mini panic attack when he saw one.
My how kids change and grow!  They were both happy to go say hello to the cow, give him five and take a picture with him.

Superhero/video game birthday party!
Such fun!  Fun games and activities were set up, and the boys had a blast.

 Mustache fun!
At the birthday party, they got little stick on mustaches, and C wore his all day, and then I found him sleeping with it on too! I just had to take a picture of it! (And then sneak it on H while he was asleep and take one of him too!!!)  C begged to be able to wear it to church the next day...I said no.

Snapshots

We took Tatum to the vet, and the vet gave the boys an "I love my dog" sticker.  For the rest of the day they were so sweet to Tatum!  Treats, hugs, pats, many games of tug of war, and more!  He was loving all of the attention.

 Tap dancing king!

H's creative writing homework.  (Spelling wasn't the main goal, punctuation and capitalization were.)  I like how he related the picture to he and C.  I'm so thankful they have each other!

Homework time!!! C has nightly homework, and typically does very well with it.  (Occasionally it is a huge struggle/battle of the wills...)  C doesn't usually have assigned homework, but he wants to do everything that H does.  So I have a little work book for him and we work through it, he is actually improving with his fine motor, and the ability to "chase" (trace) the lines.  Sometimes it is great to have them both working at the table together, but one of my favorites is to let one boy take a bath or play in the bedroom while the other does homework.

Horton is always at the window waiting for us when we come home.
Fun to see him there welcoming us.

Another snow day

On Wednesday it was muggy and warm all day.  It got up to about 80 degrees that afternoon.  By 5pm it was in the mid 40's.  The next morning we woke up to sleet and snow and cold!
A little bit of the novelty of snow had worn off from the last snow day, but they still enjoyed playing in it.
We went out with shovels and hammers, and the boys lasted a lot longer because their hands weren't getting wet and cold.

H was so happy to bring me this frozen yellow daffodil that reminded him of the sun!  They had only bloomed a couple of days before, and were so pretty (fresh or frozen!).

By afternoon the sun had melted most of the snow, and we went back out to play.
C said "I have a great idea!  Let's draw chuther's (each other's) handprints!" (Trace their bodies.)
H replied that they should use "water colors." (Chalk dipped in snow slush).

 H painted this "Music monster."
(He named it that because of the little eighth note in the black in the bottom right corner.)

Snow days are fun, but they wear us all out!
They are very ready for bed on these nights!
Me too!
