Happy New Year!

When the boys woke up this morning, I told H "Happy New Year," and he replied with "Oh! Presents under the tree!"  He must still be thinking about Christmas!

This morning when we woke up the power was out, and H wanted to watch his shows.  I told him the power was out, the TV wasn't working.  He said "Daddy get new barries (batteries) for the house."  Hehehe!  And when the power came back on he said "Daddy fixed it!"  Growing up (and still) I always felt like my Daddy could fix anything and make anything better, so it is fun to see H having the same feelings.

On New Year's Eve we had a little fireworks show after supper.  (Our New Year's Eve celebrations are getting earlier and earlier...)  H's best friend, Henry, and his parents came over, and out neighbors Joe and Millie and their granddaughter, Amelia.

The boys were mesmerized by the fireworks.
We had to keep reminding them not to go too close.

They all really enjoyed the sparklers
H also liked the poppers (the kind that you throw on the ground and they pop).  He couldn't throw them down hard enough to make them pop, so he would drop them and then stomp on them.  It was hilarious watching him try and try and try to stomp on them.... we still have a little ways to go with foot/eye coordination...

C thought it was all great.
I was a little worried that the noises would make C nervous, but he loved it all.  This little boy loves to be rough and tough.

They called the sparklers and Roman Candles "Super powers!"
Maybe they reminded them of some show where someone had a wand that had super powers?

Watching their Daddys playing with the bigger fireworks.

It really didn't look this smoky in real life, but I like how the camera picked up the smoke.
